Girls like tractors too!

My kids have different personalities and show different passions, but it is exciting to see my girls taking some interest in mechanics and just plain spending time with dad.  Shelb has asked to have a tractor ready for next years show dates and so we are starting to get hers ready to work on after while we finish the cub first.  Here we were washing of the grease and dust...still alot of grease left but atleast now we can start to take apart and find the problems:  oh yeh,,this one has never run before so get your thinkn cap on.
1952 allis chalmers owned by Shelby Moore and in need of desperate repair:  Currenlty not running!  Get the chain!

Yes we are pulling it to the barn.  Shelby seems to have a problem with the low tire --hey?  Shelb has named her tractor "Charlotte"

Back to tractor building - family style!

I get to build tractors all over the world and work with some pretty great people.  The challenges we face are tough and the deadlines as well.  One thing I enjoy than build NH tractors is actually working with my family on the old ones!  When the budget allows we get a old one to store in the barn and then we start to tinker.  The tinker gets to looking good and the reward of working as a family on this starts to come alive!  This is Nate's tractor ( i am buying each child one to restore with me) and he is working hard.  He is so so so excited to ride this one when it gets shiney soon!  It is a 1953 Farmall Cub and is really stripped down in this picture.
Nate blowing the dust off "cubbie" which we started but ran out of time before we had to leave to Italy

Nate tightening the bolts on the new radiator installed:  Nate is using his trusty stool on this!

Ok, now we got to get this starter running:  needs new parts but Nate is cleaning up what good is left of the old:

Back to the Farm!

We finally got back into the house and so the farm chores start!  Nate is getting older so I thought a little brief lesson on how to till the garden and then I can let him handle the rest of the tilling,,hey?  HANG ON NATE TO THAT THING:)

Just Landed USA!!! GO REDS

Well we had to stay at the grandparents----both sides--- becuase we had a long delay before we could get back in our house and get the renters out to their better place.  We had some good times though and did fun things...here is a picture of me, my dad, and Nate going to Nate's first offical Major League baseball game!  GO REDS!!

One last stop on the way out of Europe!

We took the chance while traveling the final journey home to stop in Paris and see the Eiffel tower and then we did the Euro Disney World thing which was awesome!

The first photo......last site in Italy....now we start the blog

My blog picks up at the picture above.  This is our Italian house cleaned out the night before we left.  It was so empty, which made me recall all the memories but at the same time look forward to the USA return.

The Start!

My family has a great BLOG which is done way above my talent by my wonderful wife.  It keeps those in the world posted about what our family does, the good times we have, the funnies we have, and all the rest.  But I have trouble remembering the passwords, don't always have the best pictures, and sometimes come off with to much "manly" grease in my photos:)  So now I am going to take some time and make a little story book of the good times and how I see them through my eyes.  This blog will be hodge-podge for sure and timing may not always be in order, but at the end it will give my kids and me a fun laugh as we make this into a little daddy notebook that can be an extension to the "daddy blue album" of memories already.

Happy Day
